2007 Rental Information

January 1st - October 31st

The Giftcenter and Jewelry Mart is open for private business Monday through Friday 9am - 5pm.

Load in for special events may commence after 5pm Monday through Friday and after 10am on Saturday and Sunday, subject to availability. Load in outside of these hours may be scheduled through prior arrangement with the Giftcenter Pavilion event management.

Additional Costs

  • Security is required to equal 1 guard per 100 attendees; based on your contracted count. Each guard is $150.00 for the evening.
  • Charges may apply for previous or post-day move-in/move-out or rehearsal days.

Deposit Requirements

  • There is a $1000.00 refundable damage deposit required of all events. This deposit is returned within 30 days after the event, should no damages occur.
  • A 50% deposit of the total rental is required to confirm the space on a definite basis, and is non-refundable. The balance is due 60 days prior to the event.

Technical Production
The Giftcenter's sound and lighting is done on premises. Any additional work can be done in-house with our designer, or sub-contracted.

Catering
As our client, you may hire any provider in the Bay Area to cater your event. For food catering options please visit our preferred vendors list. Exclusive beverage service is provided by Best Beverage Catering (BBC). Please contact Suzanne Kavert at BBC at 415-642-2410 for beverage package information.

Penthouse Rental Information

Available 8am-4pm, Evening hours subject to availability.

Inclusive of:

  • Tables and chairs - set up as per client's request
  • Available upon request
    • Slide projector, overhead projector, projection screen, television, and DVD (rental fee may apply)

Food and beverage service, as well as table linen can be provided at additional cost through the Giftcenter's in-house caterer, Best Beverage Catering, or by an outside provider.

Sound & lighting equipment, as well as décor can be provided at additional cost through the Giftcenter's in-house technical production company.

Special Event Regulations & Guidelines

I. The Pavilion Requests

  1. All venders must contact Giftcenter Management to coordinate load-in times and establish electrical and other needs.
  2. Any confetti or balloons must be cleared with the Events Manager; an additional fee will be charged for all such décor.
  3. Soap bubbles, bubble machines, and other bubbles must be approved in writing.
  4. Please do not put tape on the walls-and no Duct Tape allowed ever. Gaff tape only.
  5. Load-in will be done immediately prior to the event and load-out will be done immediately following the event, unless pre-arranged.
  6. All pick-ups and deliveries must take place on the event date and coordinated through the Special Events Dept.
  7. Storage before or after an event must be cleared with building, and may be billed.
  8. All laser light shows must be approved the night before show, no exceptions.
  9. Management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone and to escort said person if they are considered a safety or security risk from the building.
  10. To avoid confusion and conflicting direction we request that one person be designated as the contact person.
  11. Any canopy work must be done by the building rigger.
  12. All rigging in building must be coordinated with Giftcenter staff and charges may apply.
  13. All extension cords, cables, lines, etc. must be taped flat to avoid hazard. It is the client and their vendors' responsibility to comply.
  14. Fire codes and regulations regarding exits and entrances must be adhered to. Doorways must not be obstructed nor emergency exit signs obscured.
  15. Movement of plants must be cleared.
  16. Sound checks for bands cannot be conducted before 5pm Monday through Friday. Should building activity (markets, extended hours, or holidays) necessitate, weekend dates may have limitations as well.
  17. Event music or entertainment must conclude at the contracted event finish time.
  18. Venders must bring their own equipment such as ladders, dollies, etc.
  19. All outside florists are required to come prepared with drop clothes, ladders and vacuums. Florists are responsible for their own clean up.

II. Additional Catering Regulations

  1. The Giftcenter Pavilion requires fire permits specific to any cooking.
  2. Caterers must provide a fire extinguisher at each warmed food station.
  3. All trash must be removed from the premises.
  4. Bussing must be done throughout the event.
  5. A final walk-through with the Event Manager is mandatory at the close of the event.
